No new injury concerns ahead of Dortmund clash

Pep Guardiola will have a pool of 31 players to pick from as Manchester City take on Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund in the International Champions Cup.

With just skipper Vincent Kompany and Ilkay Gundogan on the sidelines, and the latter not being included in the pre-season tour squad, Guardiola will have a host of options to explore in Thursday’s meeting between City and Dortmund.

Belgian centre-back Jason Denayer is expected to make an appearance, although it is not known whether or not he will start the game.

It could be the first chance for City fans to see Nolito, who was signed from Celta Vigo earlier this summer.

Nolito, along with the likes of Joe Hart, Raheem Sterling, David Silva, Sergio Aguero and Nicolas Otamendi, joined training last week having progressed into the knockout stages of the Euros.

None are expected to majorly feature in the match but all are understood to be prepared for cameo roles.

After reports that emerged yesterday suggesting that Guardiola had banished players who had returned to the fold overweight, so it could become apparent on Thursday which player they are.
