FC Twente sign Bersant Celina on loan

Another City youth player has opted for a loan to Holland, with the club confirming that FC Twente have agreed a loan deal with Manchester City for Bersant Celina. Several of City’s youth set-up have moved temporarily to the Netherlands for the season already, and Celina has become the next to make the trip.

He is be the third City player just at Twente, with both Yaw Yeboah and Enes Unal having arrived earlier in the summer. The latter scored his first goals at the weekend, netting a hat-trick in 16 minutes as they beat Groningen 4-3. The Blues have also taken advantage of the new agreement with NAC Breda, sending five youngsters to the Eerste Division side.

Celina earned praise for breaking into the City senior side last year, setting up a goal for Sergio Aguero on his Premier League debut against Leicester, during a 3-1 defeat. He also appeared three times in the FA Cup, starting the 5-1 loss at Chelsea in February but performing well regardless.

Now he has left on loan to continue his development, who currently sit ninth in the Eredivisie. He will be hoping to use his time in Holland to also boost his chances of more international caps, after making his Kosovo debut in a friendly against the Faroe Islands in June.
