Gabriel Jesus set to be out for between two and three months

Gabriel Jesus has reportedly broken his fifth metatarsal and will be between two and three months, as per reporter Vero Brunati.

The teenage striker was substituted after just 14 minutes of Manchester City’s 2-0 win over Bournemouth on Monday night with Sergio Aguero coming on in his place.

The Brazilian had replaced Aguero in Pep Guardiola’s starting line-up and had repaid his manager’s faith by putting in excellent performances and finding the back of the net against West Ham and Swansea City respectively.

The news will come as a blow to City as they look to put pressure on Chelsea at the top of the Premier League and also try to progress further in the Champions League.

If the worst case in terms of the reported timescale turns out to be correct, there’s a chance he could miss the rest of the season.
