Jesus aiming to take his chances

Manchester City striker Gabriel Jesus is looking to take his chances when they come to him.

As quoted by the Manchester Evening News, the young forward spoke of his desire to keep improving at City, and insisted that he was happy with his recent displays.

I know I’ve been doing a good job. I’m training hard, no matter if I’m going to play or be a sub.

That doesn’t change the amount of effort that I am always putting into the training sessions. I must continue to train hard, like I always did, and wait for a chance, so that, when it comes, I take it.

Jesus has found himself on the bench in large periods this season. Sergio Aguero, when fit, has been Pep Guardiola’s go-to forward to lead the line for City so far, but Jesus has still produced the goods when he’s played.

The young Brazilian came off the bench to net City’s third in their recent win over Arsenal. Sergio Aguero netted for Guardiola’s side, also, following Kevin De Bruyne’s well-taken opener.

We’re doing on the field everything that our coach asks, and we’re playing beautiful football, always scoring lots of goals. That’s the most important thing for now.

Although Jesus’ chances have been limited this season, it looks as though he is content with his progression, and is working hard to ensure that he will be ready for action when Guardiola inevitably calls on him throughout the campaign.
