Liverpool look to get ahead in Yan Diomande race

According to Sky Sports journalist Florian Plettenberg, Man City and PSG have already held talks with RB Leipzig star Yan Diomande.

However, Liverpool are pushing to find a quick agreement to bring him to Anfield, with the Merseyside club eager to get ahead of the competition.

Meanwhile, RB Leipzig are not prepared to let their winger leave without a fight. The German outfit are still actively working to extend Diomande’s contract.

Leipzig plan to offer a significantly improved salary package to convince the player to stay at the Red Bull Arena.

Pep Guardiola to attend chartity sporting event

According to The Sun, Guardiola will take part in the Battle of Stars charity golf tournament in Mallorca. The event will take place from June 10 to June 12.

The tournament will be held across the Pula Golf Resort and Son Servera Golf Club. Guardiola will also be joined by several major names from sport, including Rafael Nadal, Gianfranco Zola, Alvaro Morata, Pepe Reina and Henrik Larsson.

The tournament will raise funds to support research and treatment for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and multiple sclerosis.

More names from sport and entertainment are also expected to be announced before the event gets underway.

Man City might play a role in getting Girona back to La Liga

According to AS, City Group still consider Girona an important asset despite the club’s relegation. The report claims that Girona expect the relationship with the group to help produce loan options this summer.

AS also state that the Spanish club’s sporting director Quique Carcel is already working with City to analyse possible options for the 2026/27 squad.

The Spanish club are preparing for a major rebuild after relegation, with Míchel Sánchez also leaving his role as manager.

Quique Álvarez, the current Girona B manager, has been gaining ground as a possible option for the first-team job.

City join race to sign teenage Danish striker

According to Tipsbladet, Manchester City, Chelsea and Newcastle United are among the clubs chasing Bodø/Glimt striker Mikkel Bro Hansen.

The report claims that Barcelona, Juventus and Ajax are also in the picture for the 17-year-old striker. Likewise, the Citizens and the Blues have sent scouts to watch the Danish teenager.

Bro Hansen is already the captain of Denmark’s U17 side and has been attracting attention during the U17 Euros.

The teenager scored 12 goals for Denmark U17. He has also made progress at club level since joining Bodø/Glimt from AGF in 2025.

Bro Hansen registered seven goals in 12 competitive first-team appearances for the Norwegian top-flight side.

Guardiola can return to the Etihad in the future

According to Football Insider, former Man City financial adviser Stefan Borson has claimed that Guardiola returning to the Etihad in the future isn’t a far-fetched dream.

Borson suggests that Guardiola is likely to need time away from club football after his demanding spell in Manchester.

“I also don’t think it’s impossible if he ended up, depending on how things pan out, back at Man City at some point. It wouldn’t shock me. I think he just needs a break,” Borson told Football Insider.

Guardiola’s bond with the club remains a strong reason to return, with the gaffer spending a decade at the Etihad.

The Catalan won 20 major trophies during his time in Manchester, including six Premier League titles, the Champions League and the 2022/23 Treble.

Rodri namechecked in Real Madrid presidential election

According to AS, Real Madrid presidential candidate Enrique Riquelme has namechecked Rodri as part of his sporting vision if he defeats Florentino Perez.

The 37-year-old businessman also claimed that his project would include major sporting figures in addition to the Spanish midfielder.

Speaking on Tiempo de Juego, Riquelme said, “If I am president, a player like Rodri will play at Real Madrid.”

Riquelme has emerged as the first serious challenger to Perez in years. Likewise, his campaign has already generated attention across Spain.

The Real Madrid candidate has been pushing a member-focused project and has criticised aspects of the club’s current direction.
